Chukka Airboat Tour Company robbed by armed bandits

Tonight, police are on the hunt for five men who targeted the Chukka Airboat Tour Company and ransacked the place in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Around 3 o ‘clock, police on patrol spotted a man with a flashlight on the George Price Highway signaling them to stop. Officers were then informed by 52-year-old James Ramos and 37-year-old Ian Beyers, both security guards, that they were robbed by five armed bandits. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hilberto Romero, says the thieves then tied up the guards, and robbed them before fleeing the scene in a gold color car. 

blankACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division: “The security guards reported that they were held up by five male persons with firearms and robbed of alcoholic beverages from the establishment as well as some cash. The male persons then fled from the area making good their escape. We are following up several leads and yes we’re looking for a vehicle that was used to commit the burglary.”

Reporter: So in terms of the value of items stolen has that been stablished ? 

ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division: “It was some alcoholic beverages and a small amount of cash that is all that was stolen.”
