City Council beautification project to expand to Mahogany Street

The trees you see in the medians on Central American Boulevard are a part of a city-wide beautification project. Impacted by Hurricane Lisa, the project will resume by putting the down trees back in place and expanding the project to other parts of the city. We asked Mayor Bernard Wagner about it.

Bernard Wagner, Mayor of Belize City: “That’s in collaboration with the Belize Tourism Board the Minister Anthony Mahler and his team there. We have developed this wonderful relationship of really making the city look green. We’re working on the Mahogany Street Hub. We have so many programs. We are looking at all the parks in the city. If you pass constitution park you’ll see a huge development being undertaken there by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Belize City Council so so many good things. We are at a point where we are ready to take off you know but each time a crisis comes.”
