Culverts installed in Cayo after weekend floods

Culverts installed in Cayo after weekend floods

The floodwaters of the past weekend continue to affect parts of the Cayo District days later but the good news is that the waters are subsiding in the west. The road and bridge networks are going back to normal but the Ministry of Infrastructure Development is already on the ground doing repair work. The Ministry’s District Technical Supervisor for San Ignacio/Santa Elena, Obidio Estrada explained there were significant impacts on the roads in that part of the country. The work, he says, includes installing larger culverts.

Estrada says that the damage sustained is in the millions of dollars but there is a continued effort to address all the major infrastructural challenges left in the wake of the floods
