Elderly resident robbed at knife point in home invasion

An elderly Belize City resident became the latest home invasion victim on Sunday morning when a knife-wielding man broke into her home. Around 2 o’clock, 63-year-old Sonia Dawson was sleeping inside her Evergreen Street home when she was awakened by a man armed with a knife. The assailant placed his hand on Dawson’s mouth and demanded money. Fearing for her life, Dawson handed over her purse which contained five thousand dollars and gold jewelry. The crook then made good his escape. According to police, entry was gained by removing the front door’s deadbolt lock. Police managed to obtain fingerprints from the scene; their investigations continue
