Electricity rates to remain the same up to June 30 next year.

Electricity rates will remain the same at thirty-nine-point nine cents per kilowatt hour, at least up to June 30 next year. The announcement came via the Public Utilities Commission’s press release on their initial decision regarding the rates at Belize Electricity Limited. While BEL did not request for an increase in rates, it is the role of the PUC to review the rates on a yearly basis. Love News spoke with Ernesto Gomez at the PUC who explained how decisions on rates are made.
