GOB says MCC funds will be spent efficiently and transparently

The Government of Belize has committed to spending the funds provided by the MCC efficiently and transparently. During last night’s event, the question was raised whether safety rails are being put in place to ensure the funds are spent appropriately. CEO of Economic Development, Dr. Osmond Martinez, explained that GOB will be carrying out various assessments and studies to ensure the monies are smartly invested. 

The MCC’s Deputy Vice President of the Latin American Region, Jonathan Brooks, added that the MCC’s guidelines ensure the monies provided yield a return on investment that is beneficial to all citizens.
