Holy Emmanuel Street being Upgraded

And as we mentioned, the electric buses will serve the entire city, first leaving off from Chetumal Boulevard, and then head towards Holy Emmanuel Street which according to Mayor Wagner, is being upgraded. 

Bernard Wagner, Mayor of Belize City: “The first part of Holy Emmanuel was done to the bridge and if you notice that the canals had to be lined with gabion stones to keep the erosion away. Now we are responsible for from the bridge to Lacroix Blvd. What we have to do first is to dredge those canals from the bridge to Lacroix, dredge it out thereafter we will place the stone gabions right along the two sides of the canal because what that does is when we do begin to do concreting it will not make the erosion occur. Very very important the canal serves a purpose for the drainage so that water doesn’t settle. We are working along with the MIDH. We are collaborating with them we are doing the dredging,  the gabion stones and the MIDH along with the city is working towards the concreting from the bridge to Lacroix Blvd. That project is supposed to commence my last discussion in early January/ February because it has to be completed to meet the timeline of the buses.”
