Man reported missing found dead on an island

The family and friends of 31-year-old Elrick Vairez saw their worst fears confirmed yesterday evening after he was found dead. As we reported, Vairez was last seen on Sunday, February 19. Vairez, a resident of Belize City, was seen on a private island, located some eight miles north of Belize City. At around 4:30 yesterday evening, Police found his body on the very same island. We are told that there was no sign of injury on his body and police are still unable to determine how Vairez died. As we also told you, Vairez and 32-year-old Douglas Gill left the Old Capital on Friday afternoon on a vessel called “Young Lion”.
