A restaurant owned by a former cop was targeted last week in Rural Belize. Businessman, Delroy Moore Sr., was inside MD’s Restaurant in Ladyville Village when he was alerted that his employee, stationed at the takeout section of the restaurant, was being held up at gunpoint. Moore rushed to the area but was unable to stop the lone robber from making good his escape. While the former police officer is yet to make an official report, according to Police Press Officer, ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, the incident has forced him to relocate.
ASP. Fitzroy Yearwood, Public Relations, Belize Police Department: “Well I haven’t spoken to him about the incident as yet but I know that he indicated to me earlier this morning that he will relocate his business and will get back to me later on today to give me the details of the incident. It’s very unfortunate that I know that he recently opened at that location but it’s just to show that the public doesn’t care who you are or what experience you have when they want to target your business they target you. I will have the full details also for that for you today but like I said he is closed temporarily and that’s only the main restaurant. They will do just delivery for now but he has indicated that he will reopen in the Lord’s Bank area.”
