Minister Ferguson Denies Allegations of Corruption

Minister Rodwell Ferguson continues to vehemently deny allegations made against him of purchasing over two dozen air conditioning units. These allegations were brought against Minister Ferguson via the Opposition’s radio and newspaper outlets. A caller rang into WAVE radio’s morning show and made several comments accusing the PUP minister of corruption. Minister Ferguson was quick to respond through a social media post and his ministry issued a press release condemning this type of behavior and stated that those people will be dealt with under the law. Today, Minister Ferguson maintained his position and told the media that an investigation would be launched to clear his name.

Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Youth, Sports and Transport: “First of all we have irresponsible media and you will face the wrath of the law. I just came back from Mexico last night, this morning I went to Cayo for the La Ruta Maya now I’m here so I’m not a minister who will stand idle and I want to caution this nation and I want to tell the Prime Minister, I haven’t done the investigation yet but you can dash me out of your Cabinet if you find any wrong doings against me with any air conditioner. Dash me out of your Cabinet sir. I will not respond directly because everything with that case is in the hands of my lawyer and we’re going to court with this one because I will not allow them to stain my name and my integrity.”

Reporter: Where would these allegations have even surfaced from ?

Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Youth, Sports and Transport: “I have no idea. I just came back yesterday as what they say the Minister is not the CEO or the accounting office in the ministry so you can go and ask the CEO this question, he should be the one who could tell you and respond to you directly what happens there if it is so.”
