No Need for GOB to Intervene in Sugar Industry Negotiations

Earlier in the news, we heard Prime Minister, John Briceño, say that the Government will not be intervening in the sugar impasse between the BSI/ASR and Belize Sugar Cane Association (BSCFA) as was requested by the farmers. As he simply put it, the two private entities can both work it out as adults. We asked the BSI’s Finance Director, Sean Chavarria, what’s the company’s stance on calling on the government to intervene.
