PAHO Advisor Says Covid-19 Pandemic Greatly Impacted Mental Health

World Mental Health Day was observed this month under the theme “Make mental health and well-being for all a global priority”. And, October 10 was set aside to bring a special awareness of mental health issues that the world has been grappling with, especially since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Mental Health Advisor at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Claudina Cayetano, was one of the panelists at a forum in Kingston, Jamaica focusing on Adolescent and Youth Health, and Videographer, Shayanne Dena was able to speak to her about the outcome of deteriorated mental health. Cayetano explains that poor mental health has resulted in a higher rate of suicide.
