Prime Minister Speaks on Commission of Inquiry to examine modernization of the sugar cane industry

The Prime Minister was also asked about the Cabinet’s decision to convene a Commission of Inquiry to examine the modernization of the sugar cane industry and improve its viability. Cabinet made its decision after hearing presentations from the Belize Sugar Cane Farmers Association (BSCFA) and BSI/ASR. Today, the Prime Minister explained the Cabinet’s decision, saying that a solution must be found to address the matter amicably.
