Private Prosecutor to be Hired for Ramnarace Murder Case

Minister of Home Affairs and New Growth Industries, Kareem Musa has indicated that a special prosecutor would be appointed in the murders of Jon and David Ramnarace, who were killed on December 31. The reason for that is that the DPP, Cheryl Lynn Vidal had recused herself and her office because of her familial connection – through marriage – to the accused, Corporal Elmer Nah. Nah’s uncle is former ACP Marco Vidal, the estranged husband of the Director of Public Prosecution. Minister Musa reiterated that point yesterday and added that if the Ramnarace family wishes to appoint a private investigator as well, they can do so.
