Social Security Board Empowers You Through Capacity Building Program

Over forty residents of Caye Caulker Village and San Pedro Town graduated from the Social Security Board’s capacity-building program – “Empowering You”. The course entailed a one-week intensive training in massage therapy, barbering, and nail technology. This cohort is the first to graduate from this program for 2023. Empowering You is geared at ‘community upliftment’ through employment, especially in communities that were affected by the onset of the covid-19 pandemic. Saida Reyes is one of this year’s graduates. She says prior to the course, she had the basic knowledge of nail technology; however, with the skills she gained, she will be able to further her business and make it grow.
