St. Matthew Villagers concerned over group of alleged robbers

A resident of St. Mathews Village, Cayo says she is concerned over an apparent group of young men terrorizing the community. Elizabeth Smith, a business owner in the village, says that her home was broken into twice in recent months. She says that the matter was reported to the police but they haven’t been doing anything to detain the perpetrators. According to Smith, one of the alleged robbers also assaulted her husband with a machete and threatened her. With nowhere to turn Smith spoke to Love News about the situation and says she is fearful that the men may harm her or her husband.
