Stephen Lopez’s family appeals to the public after he’s been missing for a week

The Lopez and Cain families in Georgeville, Cayo are asking for your help in finding 44-year-old Stephen Lopez. His aunt, Carmela Cain told Love News that he left home last Tuesday to cut a yard and he has not been seen or heard from since. Cayo Correspondent, Fem Cruz reports.

Fem Cruz, Love FM News:  44 year old Steven Lopez a resident of Georgeville Village in the Cayo District was reported missing by family members. According to Carmela Cina,  the aunt of the missing man,  Lopez left home about a week ago and has not been seen nor heard from since.

Carmela Cain, Aunt: “He left from here on Tuesday morning about 7:30 and he left and he is a person that loves to eat so he didn’t come for his breakfast in the morning, he didn’t come for his dinner in the afternoon or in the evening so like I said he just left and we didn’t know where he went.”

Fem Cruz, Love FM News: Ma’am tell us a little bit about him. You told us a little earlier that apparently he chopped a yard and got some money he was wandering somewhere in the Pine Ridge area?

Carmela Cain, Aunt: “Somebody called me in the Mountain Pine Ridge area and said that he passed through the first checkpoint and they saw him so they called me like Sunday,  because the report was on Friday so they called me on the Sunday and told me that the person passed through and so they said – so we went there the Monday, Monday was holiday so we went there on the Monday and the person drove ahead of us and we were behind him and he took us to some cave, to the pool and he took us to the BDF camp Caracol junction and one of the BDF told me that he was there but they turned him back, they told him that he can’t pass any further so they turned him back. And they said that the BDF told us that he were went up the hill but I think he took another picado road another, another area and I think right there he lost himself.”

Fem Cruz, Love FM News:  Ma’am today makes one week, what will be your message to the public out there that wants to assist or know something that could help the family?

Carmela Cain, Aunt: “Well I ask the public that if they could help us with somebody that could search the area and see if we could find him and if we even find him and he is not alive that’s the most painful part in our life because he was someone living with us about five years and he is my nephew and it it’s really sad that this just happened.”
