The SSB donates to assist in the “Gift of Life”

The Social Security Board of Belize (SSB) has provided a much-needed financial donation to the Gift of Life Belize and the Rotary Club of Belize to assist in their efforts of providing free cardiac care to children countrywide. For over a decade, the organizations have been partnering with U.S cardiologists to host semi-annual clinics. The clinics focus on treating, diagnosing, and providing medical surgery to children with congenital heart disease and defects. Today, the SSB handed over a twenty-five thousand-dollar cheque to the organizations to support their various medical care initiatives and lifesaving surgeries. Mowava (moe-way-vah) Fuller, SSB’s Corporate Relations Officer, explained how the initiative came to fruition. 

Maria Price, the Governor-Elect of the Rotary Club District 4250, says that the donation will allow the organization to provide life-saving surgery to numerous children that may otherwise not have been able to receive medical care.
