Third person charged in Cayo holdup

Police have charged a third person in connection with an armed hold-up in the Cayo District. 23-year-old Sergio Nigel Andino, a resident of Flamingo Avenue, has been charged with two counts of robbery. This follows the arrests of 18-year-old Kelvin Romaldo Landero, a resident also of Flamingo Avenue, and a fifteen-year-old boy of the Trench Town area. On Tuesday, January 24, Wendy Campos and Mildred Gonzales were walking in the Trench Town area when three assailants held them up with machetes. The armed robbers took a cell phone, a gold chain, some clothing and IDs from Gonzales while they took Campos’s phone and her IDs. Quick response by police however led to the detention of Landero, who was found with a bag, which contained some items. The women positively identified the stolen items as theirs. Subsequent investigations led to the arrests of the teen and Andino
