Who supports Majid Khan as he resettles in Belize?

Now that the Government of Belize has agreed to resettle Majid Khan, the question everyone is asking is: who supports him? Will the Government of Belize give him clothes, food, and shelter? Today, Foreign Minister, Eamon Courtenay explained that the U.S. government is footing the bill for Khan’s new home, which will be fully furnished, a car, which gets to choose, plus communication devices including a laptop and a phone. 

While here, Khan will be reunited with his wife, who was pregnant with his daughter at the time of his initial detention. Minister Courtenay spoke about that.

Khan himself has been described as intelligent, intellectually curious, and is a polyglot. It is expected that Khan, who speaks English fluently, will make friends here in Belize easily. However, there are some misgivings because of his past. That’s why Ambassador Tina Kaidanow was quick to reiterate that Khan’s being in Belize does not pose any security risks.
